Recall Home is an ability all avatars are born with. It allows the avatar to be teleported to their spacecraft berth, home city, empire's capital, or a new world depending on what is available.

Mechanic

Destination

The destination of the Recall Home ability depends on if the avatar has a home and what type of home it has.

Location in this order of precedence.

Spacecraft

Spacecraft where you hold a berth.

  • You recall to your berth or standing at the helm if the ship has no berths.
  • E to exit a berth.
  • A berth provides a breathable environment.
  • Ship life support must be functioning to recall aboard.

Home city

Home city, if that city is friendly to your empire.

  • You appear near where you stood when you declared the city your home.

Capital city

Capital city of your empire, if that city is controlled by your empire.

Randomly selected city

Randomly selected city of your empire.

Empty world

Empty world that is habitable.

Channeling

A trance of vulnerability ensues while waiting to recall, during which you can be seen and injured.

The length of the trance is random but also depends on the avatar's lineage:

  • Demiavatar, 30 to 45 seconds
  • Avatar, 15 to 45 seconds
  • Highborn, 5 to 15 seconds

It is also possible to cancel the recall again while in the trance.

Galactic Transit

Equipment and money are lost if you recall to a different galaxy than the current one.

Sea chest contents are not lost; your sea chest is different in each galaxy.

How to use

To use the Recall Home ability, simply click "Recall Home" button on the button bar or pressing Alt + Backspace.

The screen will begin to pulse with grey runes for an amount of time before teleporting the avatar.

Cancel recall by pressing the Recall Home button while waiting to recall.

Common uses

Recall Home is most commonly used to easily get across great distances with the tactic known as Berth-a-Port.

Other uses include getting unstuck from door-less buildings and spacecraft, to get home when stranded on an alien world or in space.
