To configure ''Avast!'' go to Settings|Active Protection|Firewall Customize|Packet Rules.
Click Add and enter:
Enabled:true Name: SoH, Action: Allow, Protocol: UDP, Direction: In/Out, Address: *blank*, Local Port:1024-65535, Remote Port: 16757-16783, ICMP Type: *blank*

Select Port, Press Next.
Select UDP and Specific remote ports.

Check Domain, Private, and Public, press next.
Give it a name, like SoH, and put "Shores of Hazeron control packets" in the description.
Press Finish.

Shores of Hazeron client program uses the ports 16757 to 16783 to make connections to the servers. The servers do not make connections back to the client, so you do not need to set up port forwarding. However, if you are using a firewall that blocks outgoing connections, you will need to either allow Shores of Hazeron or allow outgoing traffic on those ports.

Avast!

The Avast! program is known to quietly cause failure of some Shores of Hazeron communications.

To configure Avast! go to Settings|Active Protection|Firewall Customize|Packet Rules.

Click Add and enter: Enabled:true Name: SoH, Action: Allow, Protocol: UDP, Direction: In/Out, Address: *blank*, Local Port:1024-65535, Remote Port: 16757-16783, ICMP Type: *blank*

Windows 7 Firewall

To configure Windows 7 Firewall go to Control Panel|System and Security|Windows Firewall|Advanced Settings|Outbound Rules|New Rule.

Select Port, Press Next. Select UDP and Specific remote ports. Enter the range: 16757-16783, press next. Select Allow the connection, press next. Check Domain, Private, and Public, press next. Give it a name, like SoH, and put "Shores of Hazeron control packets" in the description. Press Finish.
