The old QL/TL technology system was in the game for a long time. Eventually, players started requesting a new system. The common consensus had slowly turned recommend plain removal of the TL value from everything[1] and replacing the whole technology mechanic with something new.

On 2017-09-25[2] Haxus released the patch notes for an update that could remove the "TL" as hoped. The patch notes included a few questions about a few values and how to transition from the old system to the new. This system removed the TL value, but kept QL and assigned its value to buildings, and introduced different methods of spreading technology and researching. Patents were also first introduced at this time, alongside the now-useless Mass Media building. However, the proposed new system was claimed to have many of the same issues as the old system, with the added negative of being even more confusing.

On 2018-09-21[3] that system was removed. This meant that nothing prevented harvesting of resources or affect the quality of the production.

A while later, patents were brought back by themselves. These acted as a simple form of "tech tree" for players to progress through. Eventually, this system was also removed, once again providing no limitation to the extraction and production of resources.

Description

The tech level, building quality level, and patent systems have all been removed. Now, nothing prevents or affects the quality of harvested resources. If your survey says the moon has Q250 Lumenite, you can harvest it at that level immediately.

A new technology system might be planned out later.

Mass Media Building

The mass media building has no use. It was initially intended for use by the first proposed replacement to the TL system.
