Altaran was founded in early April 2012, and remained about 30 sectors west of the main cluster until May 2012 when it had achieved TL32 warp drive production. The capital city of the Altaran Empire was known as New Quin'tak.
The Altaran species was a green reptilian type, with wings alongside large yellow eyes and a large blue tongue. This species was used to crew Stellar Syndicate ships from the start of the West Galactic Federation, all the way to the Syndicate ships in universe 5.
At the point of achieving TL32 warp drive production, the 3-4 active members of Altaran packed up and moved toward the western half of the galaxy, to explore new and empty space. The team of explorers settled on a small cluster of high density sectors near one of the galactic arms with 50 or more stars in each sector.
For the next 4 months the Altarans mapped and colonized their new cluster, tested and refined new ship designs, then mostly decayed during a 3 week bout of limbo.
Once the limbo storm was over, Altaran was contacted by another entity, the Stellar Syndicate, with a proposition to start a new alliance to take hold of the west. Along with a few other western empires, the West Galactic Federation was formed in early October, spurring a rapid rebuild of Altaran space, and a combined effort to build a new cluster for all members of the WGF.
After this, Jack Katogh was given his own fleets during the events of the Pan Galactic War 2. These were used to defend the West Galactic Federation home territories, and played a massive role in saving the first Stellar Syndicate expedition against Empire Rocket in the core.
Alongside this, Stellar Syndicate and Altaran formed a large trade route within the west side of the galaxy. This spanned around 50 sectors, trading massive amounts of goods between the empires.
Altaran was also a key ship designer of ships in the Stellar Syndicate. The main warship used by the Syndicate during Pan Galactic War 2 and later was designed by Altaran, alongside a lot of ships used by Stellar Syndicate in later universes. Additionally, Jack Katogh later joined the Stellar Syndicate and was its president for part of the fourth universe.
