there's a single player beta version there now.

Daily reminder that a $10 subscription is going to once again stunt Hazeron's potential.

Best game ever! Thank you Haxus.

A couple opinions, for what they are worth.

1- The size of the game is what made it special to me. Standing on your first world, looking up at the planets and beyond to the stars. Wondering what/who was out there, how far. . . And knowing it was possible to go find out, eventually. Amazing.

2- Building height tied to advanced material was pretty cool. I really missed that when the new building designer was implemented.

3- The new ship designer was difficult, but worth it in the end.

I am looking forward to how this all evolves.

Thanks again.

I would also like to throw my hat in for the B2P or F2P with one off purchases for empire creation.

If you can't afford an extra $10-20 a month, maybe you have bigger issues you should focus on before playing 3d spaceman.

Paying extra to run an empire as opposed to merely being a member makes sense.

Sieg Syndicate.

I've found in practice, typically, it's the precedent of spending money every month on a game, rather than a single purchase. People feel like since they're subscribed and dropping money every month, they need to be getting their moneys worth, regardless of if they feel like playing or not.

I wouldn't make the assumption that it's because someone can't afford it, it's not the kindest approach and it's a bit patronizing.

And like everyone else has been saying: Free to play would draw in the most player count. Maybe not all high quality, but more heads means more attention, and more attention means growth.

The quality of Hazeron's multiplayer gameplay is inherently tied to the quality of the playerbase.

I'm not being kind. I am being patronizing. It's a small expense for something frivolous. Can't make room for it? Then don't. It's very simple.

Previously the model included a trial period at a cheaper rate. You get an opportunity to experience the game at a lower cost.

MMOs have a subscription model because they require upkeep due to the nature of the games, maintenance of servers and so on. A one time purchase is more appropriate for an offline game like "Hazeron Starship."

Or do you expect the servers to stay up for free?

Did you not see Haxus mention much, much earlier that he felt that he didn't necessarily require assistance with the upkeep, but that help would be appreciated.

Not saying that he for sure should just make it free to play, but there's an implication there that he could go the route of cheaper subscription, or purely donations. And by the sounds of it, there's a lot of you that would be happy to donate, even if it wasn't sub based. Myself included.
I'm just saying, don't be rude just because you have cash to spend on a video game. You're not special.

But whatever, man. Everyone's got an opinion, and that's mine. Have a good one.

Good news I'm excited to start playing with other people again!

I wasn't happy with the Steam version being classified as adult only, like a movie rated X. This would severely limit the potential audience and those adults who did play would be disappointed if they expected to find something pornographic in this adult software.

Would you consider making an "adult only" patch available here, please?
No, you fool.

As to my own preference, would you consider not making any such patch?

Oh man, have we already gotten to elitist sentiment? That's neat.

Wild. Never saw that coming at all. It's completely out of left field. Mind-boggling. I'm stupified.

Not only is the future of Hazeron still uncertain to the point that a monthly payment is actually suicidal, why would I play a game that I have to share with someone who thinks like this? Anyone who has more than two hours a day to put into their empire just roleplays as The Great Filter.

All of my excursions into Hazeron have ended at the pointy end of The Syndicate's spear while I was offline.

They're literally the reason the game won't ever take off.

I wonder how many Syndicate members will play the game solo. Very unlikely any of them have the patience to play the game in a way that doesn't involve actively removing the fun of others.
