You may also notice that turning off the HUD seems to allow far more GPU usage. Something seems to be limiting it under normal circumstances.

Another reason not to have the helmet visor down. I am guessing that the radar is at fault for most of that lag.
This might also explain why some people say the game is laggy, when I don't feel any lag at all (I never have the visor down).
The rain is a weird side-effect.
