Xian Won't Speak
Someone had a situation where Dr. Xian would not say anything.

It turned out they were in an airless environment so her voice could not be heard. She did not die because she is not allowed to die in that story segment.

The story now requires a world with a breathable atmosphere.

I added a branch at the point in Celarious' saved game. Dr. Xian will now notice there is no air and pull a pressure tent out of her gear. That enables the story to continue.

This allowed Xian to tell me about Dr. Millford. There was a bug in the expansion of the sector name field in her text so his location was not revealed. That is fixed.

If Xian drops the ring on the ground, she now announces that she did so. It can be hard to find.
I always wondered why story characters want to drop things on the ground or have you drop things on the ground for them. It would probably be much better to have them offer the item for free in a trade.

In specific for Dr. Xian, just pretend she picks up the ring from the fallen bullfrog and have her offer it then.

Same with Targoss and his torch.

You can trade the ring to hrt by offrting it for free.
Not sure if her offering it wouldn't cause the building to grab it though
Offerer has control of whose bid they accept.
The save I uploaded seems to work now, thanks! Will use that one since it's good now
Weird sidenote, I had another save right before starting dangerous exchange and Dr Xian just never appeared at any university for some reason, guessing because the game expected her to spawn on the moon but was unable to, so it broke or something, not a problem anyhow since I have the other save
If you have a save right before Relic begins, please check the letter in the ParcX package. It should now say what world hosts the university, in strikeout text.
What should we do if we've already completed the Dangerous Exchange/Relic/whatever quest and want to know what sector the ringworld is in? When I did it it still said [sec name] and now I'm way past that.
You could travel to each of the 27 sectors around your home world. The game startup code insures there is a ringworld in one of those sectors.

You could reset the Dangerous Exchange story. Then play through that chapter again. I think the solo game has a reset button on the Jobs window.
You probably have to reset Relic as well because you must have the knife to complete Dangerous Exchange.
Fair enough. I do wish there was a way to detect ringworlds from a distance (you'd imagine the observatories would notice one) other than going system-by-system but it's pretty obvious that'd ruin the experience of finding one.
