So I originally made my avatar as Gen III because Gen IV initially confused me. I made a Gen IV dna and upgraded my Gen III avatar to IV, however my stats from III did not carry over. Whereas before I could run a marathon and not have endurance issues, I am now have the walking pace of a 90 year old geezer with COPD, with endurance to match, running empties my stamina in a few seconds.
The "Gen3 stats" are part of the Gen3 DNA, I don't know if stats like those actually exist for Gen4 creatures yet or if they ever will.
I see...rather wishing now that I hadn't 'upgraded'.

Make a new avatar with the same name with your old Gen3 DNA (might be selectable as empire DNA if your capital is still a Gen3 DNA), and invite the alt into your empire.
